Our Mission
Our organization serves the community through the volunteer work of local Boise Firefighters, their families, and community partners like you. The purpose of the Boise Fire Fighters Local 149 Community Assistance Fund is to support and assist the members of the community in the response district of the Boise Fire Department. The fund is dedicated to the support and education of any member of the greater Boise community who is underprivileged, the victim of sickness and/or tragedy, disabled, homeless or in need. The Local 149 Community Assistance Fund is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Our Programs
This is by far the most impactful way we support our community. When we work in the community responding to 911 calls, first responders can refer individuals or families to the Community Assistance Fund. The CAF supports families with transportation, nutrition, health care, accessibility, and other basic necessities that improve their quality of life.
We order and deliver brand new winter coats to children in need throughout our community. In 2021 we delivered over 500 coats to children and families in Boise!
We coordinate and deliver brand new toys for the holiday season to families in need, as well as to children at St. Al’s, and at the Ronald MacDonald House. We also support these families with funds for food and clothing needs.
We support families in need with funds to cover back to school supplies, nutrition, and clothing needs.
